Music 24: Social Engagement in Music

This undergraduate course was initiated with Kay Kaufman Shelemay, Michael Uy, and Caitlin Schmid through support from the Mindich Fund for Engaged Scholarship. In the course, students worked with local musicians who have recently immigrated to the Boston area, offering professional assistance. The musicians were from China, Nepal, Ethiopia, and Puerto Rico. The course was taught in collaboration with the Mass Cultural Council.
